Dr. Kuldip Singh is presently working as a telecom consultant. He is also Principal Advisor (Hon.) to Broadband India Forum. He was Member TDSAT (Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal) till March, 2016 where his main responsibilities were to adjudicate disputes between the telecom service providers and licensor, as well as to hear appeals against the orders and directions given by the regulator TRAI. He has a work experience of more than 40 years in Telecommunications that includes research and development, operations, teaching, computer networking, software maintenance and development, licensing and regulations, technology and strategic planning, and adjudication of disputes.
He headed MTNL as Chairman and Managing Director for about two years and was on the board of MTNL for more than 8 years as Director (Technical). Functioning as the Chief Technical Officer, he was responsible for induction of technologies, planning, etc. He was instrumental in bringing Broadband and 3G mobile technologies in India. Past assignments include working as Director in the Department of Telecommunications where he helped in formulating and implementing the liberalization policy of the Government.
He holds Doctorate, MBA and Engineering degrees and is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineers.
